Ariel Berkowitz

Adjunct Professor, Jewish Studies

B.S. West Chester State University; Philadelphia Biblical University

M.Div. Biblical Theological Seminary

Ariel Berkowitz has been an adjunct professor with IBEX since 1995.  His area of specialty is Jewish history, thought and culture, and Torah.  Ariel is also an instructor with Torah Resources International.  He taught both full and part time at Israel College of Bible from 1992-2006.  He and his wife D'vorah moved to Israel as citizens in 1992, from the USA. They have four children and two grandchildren. Their family home is near Jerusalem.

 

 

Randall K. Cook

Associate Professor of Bible, IBEX Program

Joined TMC 1994

Prior to joining the TMC faculty, Randy taught in Brazil (in Bible colleges in Natal and Sao Paulo) and in Israel (at the Institute of Holy Land Studies). In addition, he was involved in youth work, camp ministry, church-planting, and a Christian bookstore ministry. For five years he served on the Portuguese NIV translation team. Since 1996 he has been an instructor at the Israel/Bible Extension (IBEX) campus. He is a licensed tour guide in Israel and has participated in numerous archaeological excavations.  He is the program administrator in Israel and teaches various courses, including Land and Bible, History of Modern Israel, Jerusalem Studies, Bible Manners and Customs, and Biblical Archaeology.

 

Phyllis Cook

IBEX Librarian

B.A., Faith Baptist Bible College

Graduate courses in Library Science

Phyllis also taught various Christian Education courses in Brazil before coming to Israel.  She is the librarian and “IBEX Mom” which includes making cakes for students on their birthday and chicken soup when they are sick. She also teaches a course on Women in Israel and supervises the girls who come as Home Economics majors. Organizing and team-teaching the weekly women’s Bible study is another of her ministries.

 

 

 

William Schlegel

Associate Professor of Bible, IBEX Program

B.S., Education and Bible, Christian Heritage College

M.A., Hebrew Language, Jerusalem University College

Originally from Minnesota, Bill has lived in Israel since 1984.  He served on the administrative staff and faculty of Jerusalem University College (formerly the Institute of Holy Land Studies) from 1987-1995.  He has been with The Master’s College – IBEX since 1995.

Bill’s teaching interests include biblical history and geography, satellite mapping, Hebrew language, and the Holocaust.  He lives at the IBEX campus with his wife, Stephanie, and their four children:  Rachel, Zach, Isaiah and Eitan.

 

 

 

Abner Chou

Abner has written several papers for Evangelical Theological Society and has been involved in research for journal articles, commentaries, and books. He has taught at both the college and the seminary level. His current interests include how the Old Testament connects itself together, how the New Testament uses the Old, and Israel studies. He is currently a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. He enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and tennis.
